I want to thank everyone who has been involved with the Colorado Landlord Legislative Coalition (CLLC) including the Colorado NARPM Chapters, ICOR, our Membership, the Attorneys on our Advisory Council and the Advisory Council as a whole. We appreciate your advocacy, contributions, and enthusiasm for what is turning out to be a very-very busy and impactful year. While our results and the impact may be hard to measure at times, we know that the CLLC is definitely making inroads and an impact.
Our Lobbyist, William Mutch, has been extremely effective at coaching us and making sure that we are involved with the bill sponsors at the “first draft stage”. The CLLC has a “seat at the table” alongside organizations such as the Apartment Association of Metro Denver and the Bar Association. The CLLC is taking part in discussions before the bills are drafted and before they go to hearing. This is an advantage that our Membership and those we serve has not had in the past. Before we meet with bill sponsors and legislators, the CLLC works to develop a position statement and talking points. You can find copies of our Position Statements at https://coloradolandlordlegislativecoalition.org/
The CLLC is also actively working to prepare for when the bills go to a hearing. We have been preparing in-person and written testimony, as well as Call To Action verbiage that can be shared with our Membership. Be on the lookout for Calls to Action in the coming weeks as we will need your help making contact with your Legislators.
Law making moves pretty fast and changes are constant. Rest assured that the Colorado Landlord Legislative Coalition is putting all of our efforts forward to make a positive impact for Colorado Housing Providers.
Thank you again,
Lyle Haas
President
