Today is the 101st legislative day, with just 19 days remaining in the 2024 Colorado legislative session.
The Senate is just about to adjourn for the weekend, and the House is still working.
They are expected to return for a full workday tomorrow (they were also in session this past Sunday).
Tensions are running high in the building with late nights and the House invoking their Rule #14 limiting debate.
As you can see, we are nearing the end of our bills for this session with HB 24-1057 pending in the Senate.
We were able to win our amendment on second reading this week — carried by Senator Joann Ginal — modifying the bill in our favor with an amendment we approved, but the Senate sponsor (Julie Gonzales), has been laying the bill over daily in an effort to pressure her colleagues to strip that amendment off the bill. We are continuing to work to retain our votes under this pressure. I will keep you updated as this bill is finally decided in the Senate.
I heard from members about the multi family broadband bill as well, and have that bill linked here. I also forwarded the amendment the Apartment Association has been working with the Senate sponsor. The Apt. Association believes the amendment addresses concerns from multifamily providers. If you disagree, please let me know your comments to share.
